HEC partners and conference participants
We have decided to POSTPONE the HEC conference scheduled for March 26 & 27, 2020
The conference planning committee has been closely monitoring the coronavirus outbreak (COVID-19) as well as guidance from CDC, the Georgia Department of Public Health, and local experts. With the Governor’s declaration of a public health emergency, we do not believe that we or the hotel could reasonably hold the conference at this time. The decision to postpone the on-site conference is based on concern for the health and well-being of speakers, staff, attendees and the patients we serve. Given the rapidly evolving nature of the situation, we feel that postponing the event is the most responsible and ethical course of action.
We deeply regret any inconvenience caused by this schedule change. Many universities, health care systems, and other institutions have already instituted restrictions on travel and meeting attendance, making it difficult for many of you to travel. We are exploring options to reschedule the event and are also considering holding some virtual sessions in coming months.
In the meantime, we kindly ask that you not contact HEC with particular questions at this time. We appreciate your patience as we determine next steps and we will provide further information as quickly as possible.
We are disappointed to miss being together for this conversation, but look forward to future opportunities to work together.
Be well –
Kathy Kinlaw and the conference planning committee
